On Tuesday, March 12, starting at 9 a.m. in the Sandpiper Room of the Orchid Island Beach Club, the Town Council will host a workshop on the subject of coastal erosion. This public forum will be open to anyone interested in attending.

The Town Council has invited two local coastal engineers, Tem Fontaine with Coastal Tech and Steve Boehning of Coastal Waterways Design & Engineering, to participate. They will make presentations regarding coastal engineering in general and projects on Orchid's beach specifically, respectively. Also invited on the expert panel are the Executive Director of the Sebastian Inlet District James Gray and retired Florida Department of Environmental Protection Secretary Michael Sole. Indian River County's Interim Natural Resources Director Eric Charest and Coastal Resource Manager Quintin Bergman will be available also.

The workshop will allow attendees to hear from the experts, learn about the opportunities as well as the hurdles in coastal management, and ask questions. We look forward to seeing you there!
