Ordinances
The adoption of an ordinance requires at least two readings of the title at different public meetings and at least one public hearing. Ordinances are adopted by the Town Council and set or amend local law for the Town. Most of our ordinances are encoded by Municode and made available as the Town of Orchid Code of Ordinances online with 24/7 public access. Some ordinances, such as the yearly adoption of the annual budget or the five-year capital improvement schedule, do not become part of the Code of Ordinances.
