Attorney Warren Dill Honored by Town Council

Attorney Warren Dill accepts the proclamation from Mayor Gibbons.

Recently Attorney Dill advised the Town Council that he would be taking a step back from his role as Town Attorney for the Town of Orchid. Municipal law had always been his passion and he acknowledged it would be hard to slow down after forty years in that field. He expressed how much he had enjoyed working with the Town, its Council and staff since he started as Town Attorney for Orchid in 2015.

He advised that partner attorney Johnathan Rhodeback, who had been serving as Assistant Town Attorney for Orchid for the past five years, was in his view very ready to handle the top position. The Council understood Attorney Dill's decision and agreed with him regarding his recommendation to accept Attorney Rhodeback in the role of Town Attorney effective immediately.

At the December 6 meeting, the Council formally expressed its gratitude to Attorney Dill and honored him with a proclamation, which read as follows:

Attorney Warren Dill shakes Mayor Gibbon's hand as the proclamation is handed over.

Whereas, on December 1, 2015, at a public meeting, the Town Council unanimously appointed Warren Dill to serve as the Town Attorney for the Town of Orchid, and thereby engaged his law firm Dill & Evans, P.L. to represent the interests of the Town; and,

Whereas, Warren Dill brought to the Town of Orchid the benefit of many years of extensive experience in municipal law; and,

Whereas, Warren Dill quickly came to understand and deeply appreciate the rather unique and wonderful nature of the Town of Orchid, an exclusive and tight-knit barrier island community within Indian River County, thereby supporting the Town’s goals of helping the local population thrive; and,

Whereas, during his tenure as Town Attorney, Warren Dill consistently provided excellent legal counsel to the Town Council, its advisory committees, and Town staff and played a crucial role in navigating a great variety of interesting subjects, proposals, procedures, applications, and requirements.

Now therefore, the Town Council with sincere gratitude expresses its appreciation to Warren W. Dill, Esq. for the manner in which he performed his duties as the Town Attorney for the Town of Orchid.

Be it resolved, that the Town Council of the Town of Orchid, in a public meeting this 6th day of December in the year 2023, does hereby confer its very highest praise upon;

Warren W. Dill, Esq.
