A champagne bottle's cork is almost popped out ahead of a backdrop of blurry lights and the number 2025 for the New Year.

As we all prepare for the end of 2024 and collectively marvel at having already reached the 25th year of this century, the Town of Orchid would like to wish everyone a wonderful holiday season. It has been a pleasure serving you this year and we look forward to continuing to do so in 2025. This year was a busy one for the Town. Significantly, Town Hall was moved to a much more advantageous location on the northwest corner of Route 510 and A1A. Many residents have stopped by and have been pleased to see the Town represented so well in this new and convenient facility, which includes Chambers for Town Council and committee meetings. If you've not had a chance to stop in, please feel free to do so - no need to have business to attend to, staff is happy just to have the chance to say "hello" in person.

The Town also welcomed Town Clerk Jane Garcia to the team in 2024. As a Certified Municipal Clerk, originally from New Hampshire, she hit the ground running and is able to assist you with your trash and recycling questions, as well as streetlight issues, and dog licenses, among other things. Teresa Brown continues to serve the community as Building Clerk and has overseen the completion of many large-scale projects in Orchid this year. More are on the horizon in the New Year and she is ready in her tenth year with the Town! Cherry Stowe, our Town Manager, has been kept occupied with myriad responsibilities in 2024 at the direction of the Town Council and is raring to work just as hard in 2025. Reach out to her if you have ideas for how the Town could serve the community even better going forward. Between the joint efforts of the Town, the Club, and the Community Association, this community is a very special place and its future is bright.

But first, let's all enjoy the pleasures this season has to offer. And then pop the Champagne, as we welcome a happy New Year for all of the Town's residents, whether watching the ball drop locally or out-of-state, and all the many persons who help this community thrive!
