Description
Ordinance No. 2025-02 amends Chapter 6 of the Town of Orchid Code of Ordinances relating to buildings and building regulations. The Ordinance adds provisions governing milestone inspections for buildings subject to Section 553.899, Florida Statutes, including requirements relating to inspection timing and the scheduling or commencement of repairs for substantial structural deterioration following a phase two inspection. It also clarifies provisions governing the tolling and extension of building permits following certain declared natural disasters. The public purpose of the Ordinance is to implement applicable state-law requirements, promote timely identification and correction of significant structural deficiencies, and provide greater clarity concerning building-permit validity following declared emergencies.
