At the upcoming Town Council meeting on December 1, representatives for the proposed special taxing district referred to as the Children’s Trust of Indian River County will make a presentation.
Opponents of the creation of the special district will also be heard at that meeting, including representatives of the Taxpayers Association of Indian River County. There will be an opportunity for attendees to ask questions, as well as provide comments, regarding this matter.
The objective of the presentations is to provide an opportunity for all interested Orchid residents to become fully informed regarding the process for the creation of the special district, as well as the nature, objectives, and functions of the district, the tax impact, and more. The meeting will start at 9 a.m. in the Sandpiper Room of the Orchid Island Beach Club.
The Town Council is eager to receive input from the Orchid community following that meeting, as the Council then considers whether to grant approval to the inclusion of the Town of Orchid within the proposed special taxing district.
