The Town Council is seeking Orchid residents to apply for consideration for an appointment to a seat on the Town's Local Planning Agency (LPA). This is an advisory board with responsibilities that include making recommendations to the Town Council regarding the Town's comprehensive plan and land development regulations, as well as land development applications.
In January 2022, there will be 2 regular seats, with a 2-year term each, open to appointment, as well as 2 alternate seats, with 2-year terms each. The LPA is not a standing committee, but is called upon when there is a matter assigned to the board. Members serve without compensation.
The Town Council will make appointments to this advisory board at the Town Council meeting on January 5. If you are interested in applying to serve, please submit to the Town Clerk’s office a brief written statement (via email, regular mail or hand delivery) regarding your interest in serving and your expertise related to the responsibilities of the LPA.
Applications must be received by 4 p.m. on Tuesday, December 28, 2021.
