The Town's 2022 Qualifying Period, which Orchid residents who are local electors can use to run as a candidate in the election for Town Council, ended on Monday, May 2 at 4 p.m. By that deadline, 3 candidates qualified for the 3 seats on the five-member Town Council up for election this year. These candidates are:
- James Raphalian
- John Heanue
- Bob Gibbons (incumbent)
They ran unopposed and are deemed elected to the seats. At the regular Town Council meeting following the November election, they will be sworn in, and appointments to the roles of Mayor and Vice-Mayor will be made by the newly seated Town Council. Congratulations to Mr. Raphalian and Mr. Heanue in their new positions as Councilmembers-elect and to Mayor Gibbons on his re-election to a third term.
