Orchid's network of 109 ornate streetlights illuminates the Town, so it's as beautiful at night as it is during the day. Of course, the proper lighting of Orchid's streets also offers safety to their users, whether pedestrian, by bicycle, golf cart or car. The Town's administration works together closely with the Community Association and the guardhouses to ensure malfunctioning and inoperative lights are tended to as expeditiously as possible.
On an ongoing basis, the guards' Rovers collect information on streetlight issues and report these to the Community Association, which in turn provides the information to the Town's administration. The Town works with Blais Electric of Vero Beach to attend to the issues and return malfunctioning/inoperative streetlights to working condition in a timely manner.
All streetlights in Orchid under the purview of the Town are numbered for easy identification. Click HERE to view a two-page map with the approximate locations of the lights. Please feel free to make a report to the Town Clerk pertaining to a malfunctioning/inoperative streetlight. Common issues with the lights are that they don't come on after dark, or that they stay on during daylight hours.
